Set up SharetoBoard and send your first real capture.
This guide matches the current Google Play beta. First launch walks you through consent, permissions, target-board selection, and one short handoff to the Poppy board recorder. Poppy handles the audio; SharetoBoard does not record or upload it. During the beta challenge, use the SharetoBoard Challenge Board in Poppy as your target board so the prompts live where your captures land.
SharetoBoard requires a Poppy account with email-and-password sign-in and a board you can open. Google sign-in is not supported inside SharetoBoard during beta. If your usual Poppy account is Google-only, use Poppy's supported password setup or recovery option if available, or create a dedicated beta account with a unique password. If you do not have Poppy yet, you can start with Poppy through our affiliate link. Prefer no affiliate? Sign up directly.
Security boundary: Enter credentials only on Poppy's sign-in screen. Never send SharetoBoard support
a password, verification code, sign-in link, authorization code, or identity token.
Before you start
Have Poppy email and password ready
You will sign in to Poppy inside SharetoBoard and choose the board where captures should land. Google-only sign-in will not complete in this beta.
Use the challenge board
During beta, open or copy the SharetoBoard Challenge Board in Poppy and set it as the target board when possible.
First-run setup
- Install from Google PlayJoin the test, install SharetoBoard, and open it from the Play Store or app icon.
- Accept consentRead the consent summary and accept. The privacy policy link opens this site.
- Grant setup permissionsMicrophone permission is required for the Poppy recorder handoff. Notifications are optional. The current beta does not request media-library access for sharing.
- Connect your Poppy boardTap Open boards, sign in with your Poppy email and password if prompted, open the board you want to use, then tap Set target in the SharetoBoard helper card. Do not choose Google sign-in during beta.
- Test the Poppy recorder handoffTap Start test. Quick Capture opens. Tap Record, say a short message, confirm Poppy is recording on the open board, then tap Stop Recording.
- Confirm setup completeWhen permissions, target board, and test recording are complete, SharetoBoard opens Settings. Reopen the app to use Quick Capture.
Do not paste a board URL. The current beta intentionally uses the board picker and explicit Set target action so Record, Note, widgets, tiles, and online text/link sharing all use the same board.
Beta challenge path
For the 14-Day Capture to Clarity Challenge, make the challenge board your target board. It should contain the daily prompts, timeline, idea inbox, leverage map, feature-test missions, and feedback cards.
- Morning: Record or Note what matters today.
- Evening: Record or Note what happened and what tomorrow should start with.
- During the test: try online text/link sharing, selected text, widgets, tiles, and calendar nudges.
Use Quick Capture
Open
Tap the app icon after setup. Quick Capture shows the current target board and online/offline state.
Record
Starts the Poppy board recording flow on your target board. Poppy handles recording and transcription; SharetoBoard does not record, transcribe, or upload audio.
Note
Opens Zen Note mode for a typed capture. The board must be online because offline delivery is unavailable in the current beta.
Status messages. Current online captures report Routed or Needs setup. Queued may identify an item saved by an older build; the current beta does not add or deliver queue items.
Capture from anywhere
Android share menu
Share online text or links from Chrome and other Android apps, then confirm the payload and target board. Image, video, PDF, and generic-file sharing are unavailable.
Widgets and tiles
Add home-screen widgets or Quick Settings tiles after setup for Record, Note, and URL entry points.
Calendar nudges
Calendar nudges remain available. Choose the calendars you want SharetoBoard to consider; an empty selection schedules no nudge work.
Closed beta checklist
- Stay opted in: do not leave the Play test during the 14-day closed beta period.
- Daily loop: use Record or Note once in the morning and once in the evening while online.
- One-time tests: try one online text/link share, one selected-text action, and one widget, tile, or calendar nudge.
- Feedback: send screenshots or exact wording for anything confusing, broken, or unexpectedly useful.
