SharetoBoard for Chrome Privacy Policy

SharetoBoard for Chrome acts only after you choose an extension command. The free beta does not continuously monitor webpages, collect a general browsing history, or send highlighted content to SharetoBoard-operated servers.

1. Scope

This policy describes how the SharetoBoard Chrome extension handles information when you use Bring Poppy to Front, Quick Note, Quick Record, Send to Board, or extension settings. The separate Android app and website privacy policy covers those surfaces.

2. Information handled by the extension

The free extension may handle:

Content you explicitly highlight on a webpage and choose to send with Send to Board.
The Poppy board URL you configure.
Extension settings required to provide the requested functionality and preserve compatibility.
Local technical diagnostics needed to identify action failures. Version 1.5.3 diagnostics do not include highlighted-content previews.

The extension does not continuously inspect pages or collect a general record of sites you visit.

3. How information is used

Highlighted content is used only to complete the Send to Board action you request.
The configured board URL is used to find, open, navigate to, and focus the correct Poppy board.
Extension settings are used to remember your selected board and provide the extension's features.
Local diagnostics are used to identify failures without logging the highlighted content itself.

4. Sharing and transfer

When you choose Send to Board, the highlighted content is copied locally and delivered to the Poppy application at https://app.getpoppy.ai. It then becomes subject to your Poppy account and Poppy's terms and privacy practices.

The free beta does not transmit highlighted content to SharetoBoard-operated backend servers. SharetoBoard does not sell highlighted content or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

The configured board URL is stored with Chrome extension sync storage and may be synchronized by Chrome through your Google or Chrome profile according to your Chrome sync settings.

5. Storage and retention

The free extension does not create a persistent local outbox of highlighted content.
The configured board URL remains in Chrome extension storage until you change it, clear the extension's data, or remove the extension, subject to Chrome sync behavior.
Content delivered to Poppy is retained and controlled according to your Poppy account and Poppy's policies.
Inactive legacy Pro configuration keys may remain in extension storage after an earlier build, but the free settings page does not request them and Pro dispatch is disabled.

6. Chrome permissions

Permission or origin	Why SharetoBoard uses it
`contextMenus`	Adds user-invoked SharetoBoard actions to Chrome's right-click menu.
`activeTab`	Temporarily accesses only the source tab where you explicitly invoke Send to Board so the selected content can be copied.
`scripting`	Runs the requested copy behavior on the active source tab and the requested Quick Note, Quick Record, or paste behavior on the configured Poppy board.
`tabs`	Finds, opens, navigates, activates, and focuses your configured Poppy board.
`notifications`	Displays setup and action-failure messages.
`clipboardWrite`	Copies only the content you explicitly highlighted after you choose Send to Board.
`storage`	Stores the configured Poppy board URL and extension settings.
`https://app.getpoppy.ai/*`	Allows SharetoBoard to focus the configured board and perform the user-requested board actions.

7. Security

The extension limits persistent website access to the HTTPS Poppy application origin. Temporary source-tab access occurs only after you invoke an extension action. Version 1.5.3 removes highlighted-content previews from local click diagnostics.

8. Your choices and controls

Choose whether to invoke any SharetoBoard action.
Change the configured board URL in SharetoBoard settings.
Clear extension data or uninstall SharetoBoard through Chrome.
Manage or delete delivered content through your Poppy account.
Contact support for privacy or deletion help.

9. Children

SharetoBoard for Chrome is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in the user's jurisdiction.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when extension functionality or data practices change. The effective or last-updated date will be revised, and material changes will be disclosed as required.

11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

SharetoBoard's use and transfer of information received through Chrome APIs will comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
