Android release notes

What changed in SharetoBoard.

A plain-language record of each Android beta. Newer entries appear first.

Last updated: July 28, 2026.

v1.2-beta3 · Build 5 · July 2026 · closed-beta candidate

  • Added a security-hardened image and video preparation pipeline with strict size limits, private temporary storage, metadata cleanup, and bounded conversion.
  • Bound media operations to the exact board and document chosen by the user, with one-time authorization and a terminal operation receipt.
  • Media is considered placed only after a new media node appears on that same Poppy board document.
  • Added process-start cleanup and stale-callback protection so abandoned media cannot be delivered later.
  • Locked and verified the new media dependencies for reproducible builds.
  • Availability: image and video sharing remain switched off until authenticated physical-device testing and explicit approval are complete.
  • Online text and link sharing, Poppy recording controls, widgets, tiles, and calendar nudges remain available to invited testers.

v1.2-beta2 · Build 4 · July 2026 · historical, superseded by Build 5

  • Online external sharing is limited to text and links, with fresh confirmation of the payload and target board.
  • Offline queue intake and delivery are paused. Existing rows remain frozen on-device and are not retargeted or delivered.
  • Notion connection, credential refresh, and delivery are disabled; the retired authorization endpoints return 410 Gone.
  • The invite-based closed beta remains free, with subscriptions, purchase verification, and billing disabled.
  • Native media prep and external image, video, and PDF sharing are unavailable in this release.
  • Voice handoff controls the recorder on the open Poppy board; SharetoBoard itself does not record or upload audio.
  • Calendar nudges remain available with user-selected calendar scope and bounded event processing.

v1.2-beta1 RC · Build 3 · June 2026 · historical

  • App icon now opens Quick Capture directly; long-press shortcuts expose Open Board, Quick Capture, and Settings.
  • Settings tabs are organized as Capture, Boards, and Sync & Queue.
  • Settings no longer duplicates daily Record/Note actions; those live in Quick Capture and widgets/tiles.
  • Onboarding TalktoBoard testing uses a visible active-recording state and user-controlled Stop Recording flow.
  • Beta authentication now explicitly supports Poppy email-and-password sign-in only; unsupported Google sign-in navigation is blocked instead of attempting a cross-context token handoff.
  • Android share-menu text and URL captures route through the current board-paste path; offline text/link captures queue for later user approval.
  • Notion Inbox is temporarily unavailable; its authorization endpoints return a fail-closed unavailable response.
  • The invite-based closed beta is free; SharetoBoard subscription verification and billing are unavailable.

v1.2-beta1 · Build 3 · April 2026 · historical

  • Notion Inbox Beta: OAuth, one verified fixed-schema inbox database/data source, and approval-gated sync for queued text, links, and transcript text
  • Canonical status verbs across the app: Routed, Queued, Needs setup ("Delivered" is reserved for a future verified completion signal)
  • The consent screen now links directly to the live privacy policy.
  • Settings, share receiver, and widget flows share a single "Set a target board first." prompt
  • Quick capture sheet polish: faster target-board switch confirmation
  • Stability: fixes for offline-queue replay race and a share-intent ANR on Android 14

v1.1 · Earlier 2026 · historical

  • 2×1 Record/Note quick-actions widget and favorites widget
  • Offline queue with 30-day history (legacy Free/Plus plan design; superseded by the current single-Pro launch plan)
  • Voice capture (TalktoBoard) — relays the record action to your open Poppy board
  • Share-to-board from the system share menu
