Set up and troubleshoot SharetoBoard for Chrome

Version 1.5.3 is a pre-release browser-assisted beta. It is not yet publicly listed in the Chrome Web Store and still requires live Poppy regression testing.

Quick setup for authorized beta testers

  1. Install only the authorized beta. Use the unpacked source or ZIP supplied through the approved test channel. Do not install a ZIP from an unknown public link.
  2. Open SharetoBoard settings. Confirm the visible page contains only the Poppy Board URL, Send to Board disclosure, and Save Board control.
  3. Save a valid board. Paste a URL beginning with https://app.getpoppy.ai/ and select Save Board.
  4. Test a non-sensitive selection. Highlight a short sentence, right-click, and choose SharetoBoard → Send to Board.
  5. Confirm one result. Verify the configured Poppy board opens or focuses and receives the selection once.
Use a dedicated non-sensitive Poppy test board. Never place credentials, customer data, private board names, tokens, or confidential selections in screenshots or support messages.

Troubleshooting

The SharetoBoard menu is missing

Open chrome://extensions, confirm SharetoBoard is enabled, and reload the extension. Check that the installed version is 1.5.3.

Poppy did not open

Open SharetoBoard settings and confirm the saved URL is an HTTPS app.getpoppy.ai board URL that your Poppy account can access.

Send to Board created nothing

Confirm content was highlighted before opening the menu. Sign in to Poppy, reload the configured board, then try a short plain-text selection. Poppy may reject synthetic paste behavior; report the Chrome and extension versions if it repeats.

Content appeared more than once

Stop testing that action and report it. Include the action name and whether multiple Poppy tabs or windows were open. Do not include the captured content.

Quick Note did not focus a node

Confirm the configured Poppy board is fully loaded and that Poppy's T shortcut works directly on that board. Poppy selectors or shortcuts may have changed.

Quick Record did not open

Confirm Poppy's R shortcut works on the same board and that Chrome has the microphone permission required by Poppy.

How do I change boards?

Open SharetoBoard settings, replace the saved board URL with another valid Poppy board URL, and select Save Board.

How do I clear extension data?

Remove SharetoBoard through chrome://extensions and choose the available option to clear extension data. You can also change the board URL before removal. Chrome sync may retain synchronized settings according to your Chrome account controls.

Known pre-release gates

  • Live Poppy acceptance of the board-level synthetic paste event must be confirmed.
  • Quick Note and Quick Record must be checked against the current live Poppy UI.
  • The final 1.5.3 ZIP must be produced and hashed with the repository packaging script.
  • Sanitized Store screenshots and the promotional tile remain required.
  • Chrome Web Store publisher setup, privacy declarations, reviewer access, and review remain required.

These open gates are not hidden. SharetoBoard will not claim Store readiness until they are completed.
