Poppy Specialist Links manual.

Create the Specialist in Poppy, add its exact chatbot link to Chrome, keep the source beside the conversation, and preserve an explicit copy-and-paste handoff.

Chrome Pro does not call the Poppy API and does not use Tentaclaw or MCP. A Specialist is a Poppy chatbot the user prepares inside Poppy first.

Prepare a Specialist in Poppy

  1. Create or choose a focused Poppy chatbot.
  2. Configure its role, knowledge, instructions, conversation behavior, and access mode inside Poppy.
  3. Decide whether it is private with Google authentication, private with password authentication, or public.
  4. Copy the exact chatbot link. Chrome Pro accepts only an HTTPS chat.getpoppy.ai URL with a /g/<slug> path and no query string or fragment.
  5. Use a non-sensitive test Specialist before production content.
Public-link warning: anyone who obtains a public link may be able to use the Specialist and consume its Poppy credits. Poppy controls that access and revocation.

Add the Specialist to Chrome Pro

  1. Open SharetoBoard options and the Specialist Links section.
  2. Enter a local display name and the exact validated Poppy chatbot URL.
  3. Add optional display details and classify the link as private or public.
  4. Review the public-link confirmation when applicable.
  5. Save, then confirm the Specialist appears under SharetoBoard → Ask a Poppy Specialist.

Specialist configuration stays in chrome.storage.local on that browser. SharetoBoard does not send it to a SharetoBoard server.

Use a Specialist

  1. Highlight the exact source text you want available.
  2. Right-click and choose SharetoBoard → Ask a Poppy Specialist → [name].
  3. Chrome stores the selected text, Specialist identifier, and source origin in session storage.
  4. The Side Panel opens the configured Poppy chatbot with no-referrer framing.
  5. Review the source text and click Copy.
  6. Paste into Poppy and submit only after review.

No automatic prompt behavior: Chrome Pro does not auto-fill a Poppy input, press Enter, submit, read replies, or continue a conversation by itself.

Security and data flow

SharetoBoard handles

  • Validated Specialist URL and local display settings
  • Selected text and source origin in session storage
  • User-directed clipboard write
  • Side Panel and full-page fallback navigation

SharetoBoard does not handle

  • Poppy API keys or passwords
  • Poppy cookies or login tokens
  • Poppy prompt auto-submission
  • Poppy replies or conversation history
  • SharetoBoard server upload or analytics for this feature

Troubleshooting and fallback

URL rejected

Use the exact Poppy chatbot link. Remove query strings, fragments, alternate hosts, credentials, redirects, or a board URL that is not a Specialist link.

Sign-in appears

Authenticate only in Poppy's own page. SharetoBoard does not collect the credential. If the expected origin is absent, stop.

Side Panel cannot frame Poppy

Use Open Full Poppy. Public release depends on live evidence of whether Poppy permits the supported iframe flow.

Link was revoked

Confirm the intended access state in Poppy, remove stale local configuration, and add a new link only after the owner approves it.
